Recently I deployed a published application to a new client with our software and the user has 5 monitors, the published application seems to just open up off screen and I can’t get it to move without disconnecting one of the monitors. I’m aware of the ‘primary’ monitor only but the client is very against that, so I’m not sure if this is just a known behavior for Parallels published applications and multiple monitors. I’ve also tried the dynamic resize but doesn’t seem to make a difference, also I don’t have any display policies set so nothing is restricting on the client side. Client side is running 19.3 on Windows 11 and server side is Server 2022. Any tips or tricks are appreciated!
Hi there! That’s a tricky issue, especially with multiple monitors. The behavior you’re seeing is somewhat common with virtual applications and multi-monitor setups, but there are a few things we can try to resolve it.
That’s exactly what I thought, but I wasn’t sure if this was a limitation or something I could fix.
It’s definitely not a limitation, so let’s see if we can solve it! First, when the published application opens off-screen, it’s usually because the application is trying to open on a monitor that isn’t detected properly or isn’t part of the session window. Have you tried adjusting the resolution settings for the client session?
I haven’t touched the resolution settings yet. What exactly should I look for?
On the client side, try setting the resolution scaling and screen resolution in the Parallels settings. Sometimes, when there are multiple monitors, the remote session can get confused about the correct display area. You might need to manually specify the screen resolution and ensure it spans all monitors.
You can also try disabling the display scaling on the client side to see if that forces the application to behave more predictably with the multi-monitor setup.
Okay, I’ll try adjusting the resolution. What about the Parallels Display Settings on the server side? Could those be influencing this?
