Hi,
I bought a permanent license for Parallels Desktop for Mac 17 some time ago.
First of all, it is a pain to find the installer file since the website only provides downloads since v18. By searching on the web, I was able to find the installer file…
But I tried to install windows 11 using the GUI wizard that automatically downloads the correct ISO but the installation crashes and ends up on a blue screen of death (BSOD).
I also tried installing it manually by downloading the official Windows 11 ISO. The result is the same.
I feel that my purchased license is useless.
Kind regards,
The fact that they don’t make older versions easy to find is definitely a pain. So, you managed to get the installer, but what happened when you tried to install Windows 11?
exactly. I tried using the GUI wizard that’s supposed to automatically download the correct ISO, but the installation just crashes with a blue screen of death (BSOD). I even tried downloading the official Windows 11 ISO manually and installing it that way, but it’s the same result—BSOD every time.
Oof, that’s definitely not what you want. It sounds like there might be a compatibility issue between Parallels Desktop 17 and Windows 11. It’s possible that Windows 11 support wasn’t fully optimized in version 17, especially with all the new hardware and virtualization requirements Windows 11 has.
Yeah, I’ve been thinking that too. But my license for version 17 is permanent, and I don’t want to upgrade to version 18 if I don’t have to. It feels like my license is kind of useless now if I can’t even install Windows 11.
