We are running Parallels RAS 19.2.3 build 24005 and I keep seeing ghost RDSH user sessions for specific users. No matter how many times I “log off” the user from the RAS console or refresh the “sessions” list, the user is still showing.
What steps need to be completed to force a sync of the of the RDSH users?
I’ve run into similar issues before. The ghost sessions usually happen when the session doesn’t terminate properly or there’s a sync issue between the RDSH server and Parallels RAS.
Exactly, it’s like they just hang around even though I’ve logged them off a hundred times. So, how can I get these sessions to actually sync or disappear?
First thing you want to do is make sure that you’re refreshing the session list after you log off the user from the RAS console. Sometimes just doing that doesn’t trigger a full sync. You can try manually refreshing the session information from the “Sessions” tab in RAS Console to force an update.
Yeah, sometimes you need to go a bit deeper. Check out the RDSH server itself. You could try logging into the RDSH server and manually checking for orphaned or stuck sessions in Task Manager or via PowerShell.
